Ah yes computers, can’t live with them, can’t live without them. I’ve been waiting 12 hours for my email from Robin with my article content and it’s not coming up. So I’ll just ‘fly off the cuff’ as July can’t wait. What happened to June? It went by way too fast! June also wrapped up the American Cancer Society’s Relays for Life. I enjoy doing sound for these events, even though it is hectic, as I get to hear a lot of PA musicians. Lewisburg’s Relay had local favorites Folk Justice, Burnt Bridges, and Steve Adams Jazz group to name a few. Beaversprings Relay is always hopping as Bandstand Bruce books a lot of acts. The folk and blues of Jim Dandy were a hit late at night. And Saturday was also very musicical from the beginning act, “Wake Up with Nate” to the last act, Bob Holenback and his acoustic music. Even with some rain this year’s American Cancer Society Relay for Life Benefits were a success Thanks to YOU and our PA MUSICIANS, thanks to all!
Last month when  I passed Club 101 in Northumberland, Kimbo Reichley was to play the outside patio, it looked like rain. Well this month let’s have a nice sunny day as Kimbo returns July 6th to the patio.
Now with a nickname of “Danger Pants” Davey “Danger Pants” Wallace playing on Club 101’s patio July 14th could be a sight to see, what’s in those pants Dave? Let’s hope the lyrics of a lot of cool tunes.
Local lads, Kinsey rock Club 101 inside July 20th. Kinsey, a fresh new group who have made the valley their musical home want to stretch out to other areas so if you want some fresh blood and fine music check out Kinsey.
Josh and Robert from Lux Fero take to Club 101’s patio July 21st. Lux Fero is a new young band that plays classic Led Zeppelin and also Lux Fero originals. New sounds from a new band, let’s check out these two as they do the acoustic thing that night.
Don’t forget the Big Patio Bash July 29th; it’s Beer and Barbecue on tap that day, fun and food abound at Club 101, check it out.
You know how K&S Music’s ad is usually a play on words and Dave runs it faithfully every month in support of the music industry. This month it’s a bit different. He actually has an information ad about an Ibanez and Tama Dayz he is promoting. He is actually opening at 10am for the event which is taking place Saturday, July 14th at the South Williamsport location only. There will be lots of specials. The Ibanez and Tama reps will be on hand to talk to you and show you their new equipment. Ibanez is also offering to string your guitar for free. I think it’s one guitar per person limit. It will be quite an event with some great buys. Check out his ad on the back page for more details and you can also check out his website at www.k&smusic.com.
Music Notes: No info from Robin yet so I’ll head to my notes to keep it flowing.
The city of Lock Haven has its Music on the River Concert series again this summer. This month Hybrid Ice plays July 15th and Billy Price plays the 22nd. Play times are 6pm to 9pm.
The Briggs Farm Blues Festival rolls in July 6th and 7th and is in their 10th year now. Just above Berwick on Route 93 and 239, you can’t miss this big Blues Fest.
Now in its 2nd year A Bear’s Picnic takes place at West Milton’s Friendship Park July 20,21 and 22. Music by New Riders of the Purple Sage, Stir Fried and a host of others will make this festival fun.
Front Street Station in Northumberland has a hot time on the patio planned this month. Starting with Jeremy Hummel and Bret Alexander July 13th to the Oogie Boogie Boys the 28th. Cool tunes on hopefully cool nights.
Williamsports POPS in the Park this month features the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra July 15th and Jazzin’ July 29th. Two big names from Williamsport for a really big show each night.
Congratulations to Rick “Dickie” Wilson and Megan Schoonover who will tie the knot July 14th in the hills of Central PA. Rick was my lightman for many years, good luck to you both!
