Cruz Mead Rocks  Click for more info...
Cruz Mead is a Dallastown, PA resident who at the age of 5 was diagnosed with dwarfism while being tested for many other health issues.  Shortly after that, Cruz was started on growth hormone injections and is currently doing very well with this treatment.  Now at the age of 7, Cruz has just been diagnosed with severe kidney disease.  This has left Cruz with only 20-25% kidney function and extremely high blood pressure. Due to the functioning level of his kidneys, the Doctors are unable to give an accurate diagnosis.  However, stating this disease could be related to Nephronophthisis. This is a genetic disorder of the kidneys affecting children, although rare, Nephronophthisis is the most common genetic cause of kidney failure.  Cruz will need blood transfusions, dialysis and/or kidney transplants in the near future.  He will also have tubes put in his ears, due to excessive fluid, which is causing hearing difficulties for Cruz. We hope in the months to come we can find a diagnoses and cure for Cruz's disorder.
